Job Description

SUMMARY:
 
The Financial Assistant will directly assist the Assistant Dean for Research with managing post-award activities on externally sponsored research projects in the College of Liberal Arts using knowledge of grant management rules and regulations, financial budget management, technical expertise, and analytical skills.
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
 
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year of experience in post-award grant management in Higher Education. An equivalent combination of education and experience maybe considered.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Excellent attention to detail, outstanding customer service and impeccable communication skills are required for this position

Comfort working remotely and using tools to facilitate remote work

Effective analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience in research administration and working knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies affecting research grant/contract acquisition and compliance

Knowledge of budgeting and budget development

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information

 
PREFERRED:
 
4 or more years of experience in post-award grant management in Higher Education
 
This position requires a background check.
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
