Full Job Description
Administration of financial aid programs including federal grants, federal student loans, federal work study, state grants, and institutional waivers and scholarships. Coordinate all activities related to application, awarding, reporting, and disbursement of funds. Serve as an active member of the Student Services team, making valuable contributions to the institution and community as a whole.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide counseling and support to students, parents, and the public as they navigate the financial aid application process.
- Maintain and manage financial aid databases using federal software to receive new aid applicant information, perform corrections and initiate new applications, report aid disbursed, receive electronic notices of funding levels, and complete mandatory reporting requirements for state and federal agencies. Administer federal/state funding and certification requests.
- Oversee and monitor all policies and procedures within the department as they relate to the awarding and disbursing of federal grants, federal student loans, federal work study, state grants, and institutional waivers and scholarships.
- Ensure availability of financial aid information and resources to students, parents, and the public who seek to enroll at the institution.
- Intervene and problem solve for students who are experiencing difficulties navigating the financial aid process.
- Develop and oversee the budget necessary for departmental operations each fiscal year. Responsible for IPEDS and FISAP reporting for financial aid.
- Monitor institutional default rate and borrowing trends and provide appropriate adjustments to policies and procedures as needed. Prepare financial aid audits.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred.
- Must possess analytical skills to be able to accurately interpret and apply rules and regulations and interpersonal skills to relate well to students, parents, and the public.
- Computer and data management skills.
- Experience using Department of Education Sites, Microsoft Office, and Jenzabar Financial Aid (JFA) preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Ohio and Federal financial aid regulations and three to five years of financial aid experience required.
- Ability to organize, supervise and develop Financial Aid/Student Accounts Office staff and functions.
