Job Description
- Full-time on a tenurable basis.
- Base salary range: Level A, $80,520– $108,362p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The School of Physics Mathematics and Computing at UWA teaches a wide variety of courses across the disciplines and they are continually evolving to meet current and future challenges. We engage in world-leading research with impact in many areas such as quantum measurement, partial differential equations, and artificial intelligence. There are also deep School-wide collaborations exploiting synergies in courses and research.
You will work in the Department of Physics within the School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing. The Department has an international reputation for excellence in research, as recognized by the hosting of three ARC (Australian Research Council) Centre Nodes for Gravitational Wave Discovery, Quantum Engineered Systems, and Dark Matter Particle Physics. It also leads in research areas including quantum gravity and field, quantum information and computation, spintronics, terahertz and optical technology, and medical physics.
About the opportunity
- Contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, support student learning, assist in assessment design and marking, mentor students, and coordinate casual teaching staff.
- Actively engage in governance and collegial life within the School and University, contribute to team activities, and support the University’s commitment to inclusion and diversity.
About you
- Completed Physics or relevant undergraduate degree, or higher and/or willingness to undertake study towards a doctorate Physics.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative and engaging teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to organise teaching activities and support for student learning.
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles.
