The Ohio Landscape Association is a non-profit trade association for landscape contractors and their suppliers, with members from all across the state of Ohio. We have been encouraging professional standards and promoting the green industry since 1965 and are a valuable resource with tools to increase sales and reduce expenses for our members.
The Ohio Landscape Association also takes an active advocacy role in protecting and furthering our members’ business interests at both the state and federal levels.We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Executive Director to lead our organization to the next level. Our organization is in a transformational stage and is evolving from a working board of directors to a more strategic board structure. Our next Executive Director will play a key role in guiding us through this change over the next three to five years.
Key priorities of this position will include:
- Designing and implementing business strategies and plans to achieve the vision and drive membership goals of the organization;
- Providing strategic input on issues related to the industry to ensure that Board Members have the knowledge needed to guide the vision;
- Ensuring strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones by enhancing the value of membership;
- Analyzing monthly, quarterly and annual financial results to drive organizational results;
- Coaching and developing a team of three to achieve organizational goals;
- Collaborating with staff in planning and organizing events and educational programs;
- Attending association events and actively engaging participants;
- Selling sponsorships for programs and events;
- Building relationships with members to promote engagement and attendance at events.
The qualified candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or non-profit administration;
- 5+ years of experience in an executive director or similar role, preferably at a non-profit or industry association;
- 3+ years of leadership experience including coaching, developing, and leading a team;
- Strong financial acumen including experience managing budgets, preferably at a non-profit or industry association;
- Ability to exercise good and timely judgment during complex situations.
This position offers a unique and challenging opportunity for an experienced Executive Director. In addition, we provide a competitive compensation plan including:
- Base salary of $110,000 - $115,000;
- 100% health, dental and vision coverage for employees;
- Simple IRA with 3% matching program;
- Paid time off and paid holiday plan.
