Job Description

The Montgomery College, WDCE, is currently accepting applications for possible openings as a part-time faculty member teaching Information Technology courses.  We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver hands-on technology training to adult learners on weekday evenings and/or weekends in person and/or remotely in preparation for IT industry certification and/or technical jobs
  • Collaborate in the development of course curriculum.
  • Plan, present, and deliver classroom instruction in-person or remotely.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete attendance rosters for all students.
  • Submit administrative records on time after class.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a related field is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and/or experience that provides the necessary expertise and knowledge to perform the job's essential functions may be considered.
  • Must be able to teach in person.
  • Working knowledge or a combination of training and teaching experience in AWS Solution Architect, CCNA, Data Analytics, Network+, or Python.
  • Passionate about helping students achieve their career goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to contribute to the College's strategic plan for inclusion.
  • Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus) *.  Montgomery College (MC) provides an MC e-mail account and access to the learning platform, password-protected faculty sections of the website, college listservs, and other faculty communications tools.  *If you do not have access to a personal computer, please notify the department chair at the time of the interview. Subject to available funds, the college may be able to provide temporary access to resources.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry-recognized Certifications.
  • Prior teaching experience.

Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).

  • Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable).

  • For international degrees, you must provide US degree equivalency verified by a nationally recognized credential evaluation service.
