Responsibilities*
Run/Work weekly and monthly reports; call and schedule hygiene appts, support management of clinic chair utilization by processing student appt requests via Google Sheets and MiDent exercising independent judgement/decision making; responds to all emails and phone calls from staff, faculty, patients and students
Assist students w/daily inquiries; verify student requests for patient letters throughout the day, processing via mail merge, mailing letters same day and appropriately handling mail responses; Triage all patient concerns and possibly resolving as able; document telephone conversations in MiDent contact notes; maintain HIPAA compliance; print and process Missing Charges report to ensure that treatment gets entered for proper claim processing; process internal referrals
Provide office support by copying; filing and distributing mail; schedule and provide reports for semester meetings between students; Clinic Directors and PCCs; process end of semester reports in preparation for grading; maintain office equipment and supplies; cover telephones for Ofc of Patient Services; take minutes for assorted meetings and work Dental Informatics as needed
Required Qualifications*
High School diploma or GED
Previous experience as an Administrative Asst or administrative support role
Demonstrated excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Previous experience with computer software (Microsoft Office, excel, and Word)
Positive customer service-oriented attitude, good attendance, and exemplary work ethic are essential.
Desired Qualifications*
Experience with Axium MiDent patient management system or computerized patient/customer management system.
Previous experience in a Dental or Medical office.
Knowledge of University of Michigan and School of Dentistry policies and procedures.
Experience with administrative tasks such as mail merge, ordering office supplies, telephone system.
Knowledge of dental terminologies.
Experience working with a diverse patient, student, staff and faculty population.
Work Locations
This position is for the School of Dentistry's located at 1011 N University Ave.
