As the primary advocate for students within the administration, this position is pivotal in shaping the student experience, leading transformative programs, and creating pathways for success. The Vice President of Student Services will:
- Lead with Vision: Oversee enrollment management, student engagement, counseling, student support services, and more to create a seamless and supportive experience for all students.
- Advocate for Students: Be the voice of students at the highest administrative levels, ensuring their needs and perspectives are integrated into institutional priorities.
- Inspire Innovation: Develop and implement forward-thinking strategies that improve student recruitment, retention, engagement, and success.
- Foster Collaboration: Work closely with academic and administrative units to create a vibrant, inclusive, and equitable campus culture.

Typical Work Activities
1. Plans, supervises and coordinates policy development and implementation for all areas within the student services sector.
2. Advises the president in formulating overall plans, policies, and procedures for the achievement of goals and objectives of the College.
3. Supervises and coordinates student services functions of the College, which include but are not limited to Admissions, Athletics, Child Development Center, Enrollment Center, Financial Aid, Registrar & Records, Student Life, and Student Success Center.
4. Ensures efficient student-centered services for both enrolled students and the processing of applicants for enrollment in the College.
5. Stays abreast of the trends in the student affairs profession and promotes the development of innovative ideas for enhancement of student services.
6. Provides leadership for the development of innovative programs that enhance the recruitment and marketing efforts of the College.
7. Ensures the College’s Strategic Enrollment Management Plan is continually reviewed and updated.
8. Coordinates student services efforts with College faculty, administration, and staff that creates and maintains a campus environment conducive to student learning and retention.
9. Ensures student conduct regulations are properly maintained and administered, including the distribution of the student handbook and notices to campus community
10. Oversees the disciplinary process as it relates to student matters.
11. Annually develops and administers the Student Services budget.
12. Monitors the development and administration of the annual student activities and student athletics budgets ensuring full participation of student government.
13. Ensures all required reports related to Student Services are filed with Local, State and Federal government agencies.
14. Serves on the President’s Executive Council, the President’s Cabinet, Faculty Senate, and other committees as required or needed.
15. Evaluates direct reports and ensures evaluations of student services personnel are properly completed.
16. Performs other duties as assigned by the President.

Essential Functions
Ability to relate to a diverse academic community; ability to supervise multiple functions; ability to represent the college’s interest within the local community, ability to work effectively as a member of the senior management team; ability to operate computers; ability to actively supervise numerous personnel and functions simultaneously; ability to speak to groups; ability to travel and attend conferences; ability to physically perform the responsibilities of the position.
Required Qualifications
- Terminal Degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, Student Development, Education or related field;
- Eight (8) years experience in student services which must include two or more of the following areas: admissions, financial aid, records/registration office (registrar), student activities, student development (e.g. counseling/career planning/student employment/disability services), student judicial programs,
- Five (5) years of which must be at a level of Director or above.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in the above student service components at a community college; experience with student government and co-curricular activities;
- Experience with student disciplinary processes; experience with services to traditional, non-traditional, and at-risk students;
- Experience with student service assessments and methodologies;
- Experience with SCT Banner computer system,
- Experience with multi-cultural programming;
- Experience working with persons with disabilities;
- Experience with student housing.

The Niagara Falls Culinary Institute (NFCI) is located in the heart of one of the world’s biggest tourist destinations, Niagara Falls. Fully outfitted with modern labs and tools for students to use as they train in both classic and trendy techniques, NFCI is home to Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, and Hospitality programs. The college also operates Savor, a fine dining restaurant, and La Patisserie, a European-style pastry café, at NFCI.
