DESCRIPTION

The Department of Urology provides the highest quality of urologic care, research and education in each subspecialty domain of urology. Those subspecialties include urology oncology, infertility and andrology, women's pelvic medicine and voiding dysfunction, urinary stone disease and endourology, reconstructive urology and urologic trauma and pediatric urology. The urology clinical program consists of over 20 faculty members, 5 fellows and 15 residents and conducts ambulatory outpatient care in 7 clinical sites.

Urology is seeking an expert researcher to jointly coordinate research efforts in the new Inflammation Research Laboratory within the Division. The incumbent is responsible for short- and long-term development and implementation of policies and procedures for operational management. The incumbent is responsible for designing and implementing quality control, quality assurance, and teaching. Performs other duties as assigned.

Administers finance, human resources, facilities and other operational activities for Division research programs. Administers major program components, and some or all of the program's operational requirements. Develops and organizes conferences and other public forums. Works under direction of Principal Investigator or more senior Academic Program Officer to establish agenda, funding, and objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nine years of related experience, education/training, OR an Advanced degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training

  • Academic background and experience in selected area of research preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge and experience with research design, scientific research concepts and terminology.

  • Proven project management experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices.

  • Experience working in a scientific research environment. Understanding of the role of research and grant funding in a major research university.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility. Ability to work successfully with a wide range of people with varying perspectives and needs. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Strong ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.

  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.

  • Solid fundraising experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Terminal degree in a related field preferred (PhD, JD, MD, etc.).

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
