Position Overview
We seek a Lead Analyst to join our dynamic Commercial Analytics team. In this role, you will develop, refine, and maintain product sales volume models and revenue forecasts, ensuring they align with the business's strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess deep financial modeling and forecasting expertise, with proven experience in creating pacing models that support real-time business decision-making. This role will work closely with Sales & Marketing, Commercial Operations, and key stakeholders, including Incentive Compensation (IC) and regional sales teams, to optimize sales quotas and collaborate across departments to provide data-driven insights. The successful candidate will also be critical in ensuring our forecasting and analytical processes remain agile, scalable, and impactful for leadership and field operations.
The ideal candidate will be based in San Diego, CA, with Redwood City, CA or Madison, WI as alternative locations. The Lead Analyst will be instrumental in cultivating an analytics-driven culture at Exact Sciences, highlighting the importance of clear, actionable analytics in achieving the company's strategic goals.
Essential Duties
include but are not limited to the following:
- Financial & Sales Volume Analysis: Leverage financial modeling expertise to project revenue and sales volume, delivering insights to drive business strategy.
- Pacing Models: Develop and build daily pacing models and factors to support internal Tableau reporting and broader team analysis.
- Data Analysis & Optimization: Analyze company data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for optimization, building models and dashboards for forecasting, capacity planning, and performance management.
- Drive the development and implementation of advanced analytics, decision support tools, and strategic initiatives that support the sales function and enhance business performance.
- Execution of analytics projects, ensuring the delivery of actionable insights and recommendations to drive sales strategies and operational efficiencies.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with senior sales leadership, including General Managers and VPs, as well as area and regional managers, to align analytical support with field sales objectives.
- Serve as a key analytics liaison with IT, Commercial Operations, and occasionally with Marketing and Lab/Operations teams to ensure the seamless integration of analytics into commercial strategies and operational workflows.
- Play a key role in data management initiatives, guiding how internal and external data sources are integrated and utilized for business reporting, analytics, and strategic decision-making.
- Facilitate effective communication channels between the analytics team and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure data-driven insights are integrated into decision-making processes and business planning.
- Craft and execute communication strategies to keep key stakeholders informed about project progress, including timelines and major milestones.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to analysts, fostering a high-performance team environment that aligns with Exact Sciences' values and business goals.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in science, business, or related field; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
- 8+ years of experience working in a data analytics function in positions of progressive increasing responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring a team of analysts, with a strong focus on professional development and coaching.
- Expertise in creating, managing, and deploying Tableau dashboards to translate business data into actionable insights.
- Experience with data modeling and understanding of database structures to inform effective data architecture and analytics.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in data or field related to the essential duties.
- Advanced Excel skills with demonstrative experience in financial modeling.
- Robust technical skills with a requirement for advanced SQL proficiency to support complex data analysis and reporting tasks.
- Familiarity with statistical programming languages such as R or Python is a plus, indicating a well-rounded technical background.
- Experience in a life sciences organization.
Salary Range:
$143,000.00 - $228,000.00The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - CA - San Diego on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
