Job Description
Position Summary
Victoria College is recruiting for two full-time, nine-month, tenured track instructors qualified to teach English. One of the candidates should be qualified to teach English and Humanities. This position will be available August 2025. We are looking for an engaging team player comfortable with traditional, interactive television, and online/hybrid assignments. Teaching assignments may include sections of humanities courses as well as all levels of English from developmental education to sophomore literature. Class size is usually limited to 25 students. A successful candidate will compassionately commit to rigor, retention, and successful completion through campus partnerships at the departmental, divisional, and institutional levels. Committee work and other duties may be assigned by the department chair or dean. Teaching assignment may include evening classes.
Starting earned monthly salary for the nine-month position is $5,346.11. The earned annual salary is paid out over months.This position is benefits eligible. For more information on Victoria College's excellent benefits package, click the benefits tab.

Regular faculty members help students achieve learning outcomes by teaching assigned
classes in accordance with established guidelines and policies and participate in advising
and committee assignments, other academic and institutional support activities, and
supervisory responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications
Required
- A Master's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in English
- Will consider May 2025 graduates.
- Computer literacy.
- Commitment to teaching excellence.
- Excellent work ethic.
- A Master's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in disciplines listed from two of the following bulleted list of disciplines:
- English
- or interdisciplinary studies with humanities emphasis, classics, cultural studies, art history, gender studies, ethnic studies, archaeology, history, theology, music/music history, or theatre/drama
- Experience forming community partnerships.
- Experience in assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Experience teaching students from a wide spectrum of ages and from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, including high school students enrolled in dual credit classes.
- Experience teaching developmental education.
- A Master's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in English

- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to twenty pounds.
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Bend, kneel, reach.
- Utilize telephone system.
