Job Description
This is a UC San Diego Internal Recruitment open to UCSD Health System Facilities Planning and Management Staff Only
Involves overseeing and/or managing activities relating to skilled crafts and trades, including one or more of the following: heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), boiler operators, electrical, machinist,sheet metal, abatement and insulators, structural carpentry, painting, roofing, glazer, blinds), plumbing or other skilled crafts and trades.
Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process bywhich to meet goals. Provides direction and supervision to skilled crafts and trades workers, according to established policies and management guidance. Examples of specialties include carpentry, plumbing, boiler operators, HVAC, abatement and insulation, electrical, and painting. Administers policies that directly affect subordinate staff. Recommends changes to department policies and practices. Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Provide priority setting and work flow analysis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSNine years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five years of related experience/training.
Experience, solid knowledge, and skills in the specialty craft supervised.
Certification in a specialty skilled trade.
Experience in a supervisor or management role.
Proven experience working with OSHPD and their inspectors.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
