Reporting to the Student Health and Well-Being Communications Associate, we are seeking a Website Editorial Coordinator who will assist in the maintenance and enhancement of the JHU Well-Being website and all subsidiary sites. This part-time remote position (not to exceed 27 hours per week) requires familiarity with WordPress, digital publishing best practices, copyediting skills, and attention to detail.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- The Primary Responsibility of the Website Coordinator will be to maintain and update the websites of offices in the SHWB portfolio, which include Primary Care, Mental Health Services, Health Promotion and Well-Being, and the Office of the Vice Provost.
- Respond in a timely manner to requests to update content.
- Coordinate with departmental subject-matter experts and Communications Associate to assure that all website content is accurate and written according to house style.
- Assure all content is accurate, accessible, and inclusive.
- Proactively review pages and suggest updates.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Familiarity with WordPress software.
- Articulate, professional, and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner.
- Knowledge of style manuals, such as Chicago, US Government Publishing Office, and Associated Press.
- Experience in successfully working effectively and cooperatively with a diverse population.
Additional Information
- This is a fully remote, casual position. Employees will not work more than 27 hours per week. This position will have a variable schedule as work needs change throughout the year. The work schedule can be very flexible and determined with the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Three years of related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of website management experience, preferably on a WordPress site.
