Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Automation Engineer II to join the Product Developmentteam.The Automation Engineer II will join a highly collaborative, cross-functional team including R&D, Operations and Technology to develop and deploy robust laboratory automation solutions for pre-analytical sample processing, Immunoassay and Next-Generation Sequencing based assays in support of high complexity laboratory developed tests. The successful candidatehas experience working on a collaborative, fast-paced team to build scalable, highly integrated automation platforms which enable users to reliably and efficiently deliver timely, high-quality results in a regulated environment.
Essential Duties
Include but are not limited to the following:
- Support Laboratory Operations and ensure reliable and robust operation of automated systems with minimal downtime. Establish and maintain relationships with lab staff to understand processes and procedures. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, issue resolution, as well as supporting documentation.
- Develop automated laboratory solutions through programming of liquid handling robotics platforms to meet the requirements of existing assay workflows.
- Iteratively develop and improve automated liquid handler methods based on feedback from experimental data and user feedback.
- Design and implementation of automated liquid handler methods for use in a high throughout environment.
- Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
- Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S.or M.S.degree inLife Sciences, Engineering,or related field.
- 4+ yearsofexperience working with automated liquid handlers and associated software in a regulated environment (CLIA, CAP, ISO, etc.). Experience with Hamilton liquid handlers isrequired.
- High attention to detail andprovenabilitytoeffectivelycommunicate across teams located at multiple sites.
- Optimistic and innovative; solution oriented.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues in collaboration withateam of scientists.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and demands.
- Values, communicates, and interacts with others with high levels of transparency and respect.
- Familiarity with Next-Generation sequencing and/or common molecular biology laboratory workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Salary Range:
$119,000.00 - $190,000.00The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - CA - San Diego on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
