Job Description

The Director of International and Graduate Programs will be responsible for the administration of graduate and international programs offered by the Law School, including student-, faculty-, and alumni-facing aspects of our programs. Working closely with the Associate Dean for International and Graduate Programs, the Director will help to develop and implement plans for continued expansion of our international programs, as well as a redevelopment of our existing graduate programs to include strategic recruitment of students from regions in which the University and Law School have a special interest.

Specific responsibilities will include:

a) oversight of the administration of graduate programs, including student support and programming
b) development and administration of new and existing international programs, including student and faculty exchange programs, study abroad programs, and new international research collaborations between NDLS and peer institutions world-wide;
c) oversee the international visiting and exchange faculty program;
d) promotion of increased international engagement by students and faculty;
e) internal and external marketing and communications (in coordination with Communications) profiling the Law School’s internationalization plan and its impact;
g) developing and maintaining strong relationships with law alumni based internationally (with Development and Alumni Relations), including support for new alumni chapters and events, and identification of opportunities for international alumni to contribute to our expanded international programs;
(h) supervise of team consisting of 3 staff members

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-6 years experience, experience managing staff
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with strategic partners
  • Team player who is able to work collaboratively at all levels in an organization
  • Understanding and appreciation for the mission of the Law School

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in international academic program management strongly preferred
  • JD or equivalent first degree in law preferred
