If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our Force Projection Sector's (FPS) Classified IT and Facilities Group.  

 

We are seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to provide security management, oversight, and information assurance for the continued operation of the Force Projection Sector’s GENSER classified computing resources.

 

As an Information Systems Security Officer you will...

  • Collaborate with FPS System Administrators, other ISSOs, and project managers on the implementation and maintenance of NISPOM, RMF, STIG,and APL security measures and requirements. This collaboration includes oversight as well as cooperation to ensure that security measures do not interfere with program deadlines and deliverables. Implementation is defined as the entire life cycle of the Information System, from inception to disestablishment.
  • Monitor FPS communication channels (email, phone, in-person, etc.) for service and security requests and assign, route, or respond, depending on the nature of the request. Work with classified information system users to ensure that their required training/briefings are completed and any acknowledgment paperwork has been completed.
  • Perform and analyze weekly security audits and log reviews for reportable events of classified information system.
  • Collaborate with the Security Services Department and CISSO on the crafting of Sector and APL wide security policies with the goal of maintaining a proactive security posture while managing the functionality and cost of classified computing and remaining compliant with mandated policies and security requirements.
  • Provide ISSO backup assistance to other ISSOs and security personnel to ensure ongoing operational functionality and support.
  • Work with system and facility administrators on implementation of continuous monitoring.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Hold a BS in information technology field or combination of equivalent level of relevant experience and education in the information technology domain area.
  • Have familiarity with closed areas and classified systems security practices and procedures.
  • Are familiar with and have experience with RMF concepts.
  • Have strong interpersonal and oral/written communications skills.
  • Practice attention to details and strong organizational know-how.
  • Have a current DoD 8570 certification (Security+ or CISSP).
  • Hold an active Secret clearance and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
  • Are willing and able to travel occasionally to field sites on board Navy or research vessels to install/uninstall/evaluate field test computer equipment.

 

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Hold a MS Degree in information technology field.
  • Have RMF and STIG implementation and maintenance experience.
  • Have experience with EMass
  • Can demonstrate ability to independently analyze and identify cost-effective solutions for addressing use of existing and future classified computing resources.
  • Hold a current active Top Secret clearance.
