Summary of Position

The University of New Hampshire Nursing seeks candidates for the position of Director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. The Program Director provides the strategic leadership and has primary responsibility for guiding the development and implementation of the program.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Lead the design and development of current and innovative PMH curriculum.
  • Manage student admissions, advising, and progression processes.
  • Coordinate continuous program evaluation for quality improvement.
  • Engage and collaborate with the potential clinical partners and the community in developing relationships and clinical rotations for PMHNP students.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensure all course objectives, faculty/student management, course iteration/redesign, course map development and maintenance, and curriculum maintenance requirements are being met.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Placement Coordinator, potential clinical partners, and the community in developing relationships and clinical rotations for PMHNP students.
  • Ensure students are obtaining adequate hours for completion of PMHNP training and documentation is appropriately managed for student visits.
  • Provide recommendations for PMHNP program course teaching assignments, in partnership with faculty and administration.
  • Coordinate orientation and evaluation processes for PMHNP program adjunct faculty.
  • Provide program budget requests each fiscal year and recommendations for program course fees to the Director of Nursing.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will
  • hold a doctoral degree (DNP, EdD, PhD) in nursing or education and hold advance nursing practice certification as a PMHNP
  • must be eligible for a NH nursing license
  • have 2-4 years of graduate nursing education experience.
