Program Assistant, MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI) Program

Job Description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 2, Center for International Studies (CIS), to perform complex and diverse administrative duties supporting the MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI) program.  Will work under the supervision of the program administrator and assist with the administration of MISTI student experiential learning programs. This will include organizing promotional and recruitment events; assisting with student outreach and communication via email, social media, and other channels; processing student applications; coordinating student travel arrangements, housing, insurance, payment, and other administrative items; maintaining student files and updating student database; coordinating logistics for training other program events; processing program financial transactions and reconciling program accounts; and performing other administrative tasks as needed.  

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; three years of professional administrative or office experience; excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; experience organizing and hosting both small- and large-scale events; record of using discretion and good judgment with confidential information; technical proficiency with MS Office/Outlook; and willingness to learn new programs and software as needed.  Must be able to follow through on tasks; work both independently and as part of a team; and interact with a diverse group of faculty, students, staff, and corporate sponsors.  PREFERRED: bachelor's degree, global education and/or MIT experience, and an interest in global education or experiential learning programs.  Job #24196-5

Rate of pay: $23.00 – 30.00/hr., based on experience and internal equity

Occasional weekday evening and weekend work will be required.
