At the University of Notre Dame, how you do your job is more important than what you do. The reimagined Talent Acquisition Consultant role will be a dual report between Notre Dame Human Resources (NDHR) and University Operations, Events, and Safety, strategic staffing team. As part of our Recruiting Team you will play a key role in helping others across campus achieve their goals by sourcing and recruiting talented and mission-driven individuals. This key role is crucial in achieving our staffing goals and ensuring that both hiring managers and candidates experience a seamless, high-quality hiring process.
Staffing Strategy Execution:
- Collaborate with leadership to implement and execute the staffing strategy throughout the University Operations, Events, and Safety division
- Ensure the hiring process reflects the highest standards and embodies our company’s values
- Assist in streamlining and enhancing the employee experience from recruitment through onboarding.
- Identify and implement best practices to improve the overall talent acquisition process.
Job Posting, Sourcing, and Candidate Management:
- Create and manage job postings for both staff and temporary positions using the applicant tracking system.
- These roles are both Exempt and Non-Exempt and include roles such as high volume Restaurant, Hotel Operations, Catering, Dining Halls, Events, and more!
- Actively source candidates through various channels, including LinkedIn, job boards, social media, and networking events.
- Conduct initial screenings and interviews with potential candidates, including passive candidates.
- Oversee social media advertising for open positions within divisional units.
Event Planning and Logistics:
- Organize and coordinate on-site and off-site hiring events and career fairs.
- Manage logistics to ensure smooth execution of these events.
- Participate in University Operations, Events, and Safety divisional events and activities
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all hired candidates complete necessary background checks and compliance requirements (e.g., I9).
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Generate and maintain reports related to hiring activities and compliance.
- Maintain strict confidentiality
Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training content for hiring managers on subjects such as: System usage, interviewing, etc

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, training and development or related field.
Candidates must have at least 3 years of professional experience and a keen interest in talent acquisition and recruitment. Excellent relationship-building skills are necessary for developing community partnerships, along with strong written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail along with good decision making and the ability to maintain confidentiality is crucial for this role. Experience in developing, managing, and implementing processes and procedures is critical.

Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience as a recruiter or sourcing specialist is strongly preferred.
Previous work in hospitality, food service, or other high-volume recruiting fields is preferred but not required.
