The IMPART Alliance team seeks a Unit Human Resources Coordinator to support HR functions for the development of a Statewide Direct Care Worker (DCW) Training Program. Housed within the College of Osteopathic Medicine, IMPART Alliance, is an organization with the mission to build a strong caregiver workforce - addressing a critical shortage of professional direct care workers and family caregivers.
This position will manage the human resource activities including but not limited to initiating faculty and academic staff personnel actions which includes initiating faculty and academic staff personnel actions; manages the hiring and reappointment processes for support staff, student, and temp/on-call employees following MSU HR procedures. Serving as unit-time approver and submits payroll for students and temp/on-call employees. Tracks hours for all on-call/temporary positions to ensure compliance with HR policies. Develops HR related programs and policies as needed (i.e. Onboarding process, Orientation Program, Time off Policy, etc.). Assists with onboarding of newly hired support staff and temp/on-call personnel. Serves as unit I9 verifier. Maintains personnel records related to Human Resources. Serves as liaison with COM Human Resources and MSU Human Resources. Assist with evaluating current processes and implementing solutions to improve outcomes. Maintains or increases human resources knowledge through coursework, attendance at workshops and seminars, or outside reading. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with operational activities for IMPART Alliance, AgeAlive, and MICA programs as they relate to the TCI project, e.g., both current and future program goals to address the needs of older adults, persons living with disabilities, and those who provide them with critical supports and services.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in human resources, a related social science field, or a field related to the operations of the department; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a human resources function or an area related to departmental operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or a field related to the employing unit; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in designing and implementing training programs and human resource/labor relations management and computer applications; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require experience related to the field of employment. Experience with MSU HR policies and practices; Experience with PageUp or related HRIS; Experience working with grants and grant-funded projects; Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
