Director of Human Resources
The Director of Human Resources is a vital member of the Senior Leadership Team, and is the most senior member of the Human Resources department. The Director represents the HR Department to the wider organization, communicates our values effectively, and builds and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with leaders, managers, and employees. The Director will lead and directly manage a team of HR professionals by setting expectations, delegating responsibilities, mentoring staff, as well as conducting hands-on work, and leading by example. The Director will guide, shape, and oversee the implementation of Human Resources policies across the organization, and ensure effective communication about those policies. The Director is also a vital listener, and will take proactive steps to understand the needs of employees and take decisive action to meet them. The Director of Human Resources embodies and demonstrates the organizational values of the Dimock Center and is committed to our mission to heal and uplift individuals and families by creating equitable access to comprehensive health care and education. Responsibilities and Actions:
- Hire and effectively coach and mentor HR staff
- Directly support members of the HR team in their work, providing a hands-on and collaborative approach to projects and other objectives of the team
- Understand the values, goals, objectives, and priorities of the President and CEO within the context of our mission, as well as the challenges and relevant constraints that exist
- Effectively communicate these priorities to the HR team, allowing staff to craft effective solutions, and ensure that projects are delivered accordingly
- Maintains regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports for guidance, coaching, and support
- Maintains regular and efficient team meetings to provide support
- Conducts annual 360 reviews of direct reports, and quarterly communication of progress toward stated goals
- Effectively advocate for HR staff by understanding their challenges and obstacles, and take active steps to develop solutions, and provide tools and resource that are needed
- Effectively communicate these challenges to the President and CEO
- Develop and maintain transparency on all HR projects
- Anticipate organizational challenges and develop effective HR strategies to achieve timely solutions
- Ensure that The Dimock Center has competitive compensation and benefits allowing us to recruit and retain hire high-quality employees
- Ensure that the Dimock Center has effective Employee Relations and Employee Engagement initiatives and actions.
- Develop tools and best practices to understand employee’s priorities, to maintain and retain a high-quality, effective, and fulfilled employee community
- Understand current trends and changes in Human Resources, especially in health care and non-profit sectors
- Advocate for effective change and modernization of HR functions with effective technology and other resources
- Demonstrate impeccable levels of discretion, communication, professionalism, fairness, respect, and positivity in dealing with all levels of Dimock employees

Experience:
- At least fifteen years of human resources experience within matrixed organizations and across various fields, sectors or industries.
- Has held various Human Resources positions such in Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Recruitment, Onboarding, Benefits, or others
- Has held HR leadership positions for at least five years
- Experience in non-profit, healthcare, government or Federally Funded Community Health Centers preferred. Balanced experience in the private sector is a plus
- Experience working with underserved populations
- Experience engaging in diverse employee communities
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field required
- MBA or Masters in related field preferred
Skills:
- Proficiency with UKG or similar HRIS
- P&L Management
Salary:
The expected range is from $140,000 - $165,000 per year plus benefits.
