President
The key responsibility of the President is to be an engaged and forward-thinking representative and advocate for business owners and employers in our community, particularly Chamber members.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Cultivate, recruit, and engage prospective and current Chamber members to sustain and grow our membership.
· Implement a range of services for our members that will meet their current needs as well as advance the community’s business objectives.
· Plan and promote events that provide opportunities for business-to-business networking.
· Organize and implement programs, activities, and events that allow members to promote their businesses’ products, services, and employment opportunities to the community.
· Recruit and motivate volunteers from the membership to participate on various Chamber committees.
· Be responsible to the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, including providing management, input and guidance to the Board and its sub committees.
· Additional responsibility includes being President of the Raytown Chamber of Commerce Building Foundation.
· Serve as the spokesperson and representative of the Chamber to the membership, community, governmental entities and officials, and other community organizations. This may be done through various media sources including, but not limited to, newsletters, public speaking opportunities, public reports and forums, Committees and Boards, and the Chamber website.
· Hire, train, motivate and supervise Chamber office staff in a workplace conducive to maximum performance and strong employee and member morale.
· Manage Chamber finances, prepare and adhere to the annual budget, and maintain all records required by law and Board policy.
Preferred Qualities:
· Engaging personality, business acumen, and strong communication skills are essential.
· Develops and maintains working relationships with local elected officials from a non-partisan, business-centered mindset.
· Engaged community member with awareness of the community’s trends and challenges; Competent first-response business resource.
· Proficiency in core accounting principles, Microsoft Office including Publisher, QuickBooks Online, and a membership database (ChamberMaster).
· Ability to create and implement engaging social media and marketing content to promote Chamber events, member news, community information, and the general brand of the Chamber.
· Ability to learn new technology systems including but not limited to backend updates to the Chamber website.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Chamber Experience Preferred
· Experience in non-profit management or board service strongly needed.
· Business experience
Benefits:
· Salary range $45,000 - $55,000 annually (depending on experience) – Exempt Position
· 20% Commission paid on all new members.
· 10 Paid Holidays, 80 Hours Vacation, 2 Personal Days and 6 sick days annually.

· Mutually agreed upon paid training
· This is mainly an in-person position with office hours. Office hours are adjustable based on the activities of the day but normally are Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm; some breakfast meetings, and weekend and evening events, are expected, as well.
