Job Description

With campuses in Maryland, Washington, DC, Florida, Italy, and China, and alumni and partners in every time zone around the globe, Johns Hopkins is a national and international leader in teaching, research, and patient care. The 500+ employees in Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) work to strengthen Johns Hopkins by developing enduring relationships that result in advocacy and philanthropic support for Johns Hopkins University and Medicine.

Johns Hopkins University supports a flexible work model that includes four different work modalities. This role has a hybrid work arrangement with an onsite presence of 3 days per week. The manager will confirm the team’s core onsite days where the majority/all team members will work in the office. Employees who travel on university business can count those days towards their onsite days.

The Hopkins Bloomberg Center (HBC) is within steps of the U.S. Capitol building and the decision-makers debating critical issues in one of the world's most influential cities. The state-of-the-art facility for research, education, and public engagement connects the university’s expertise to national and global conversations and reinforces the university’s role and contributions toward upholding the principles of democracy. Its proximity to Capitol Hill allows the University to optimize learning opportunities, foster creativity and the exchange of ideas, and host convenings, conferences, and community events. The HBC initiates and coordinates programming and events with internal and external stakeholders to create opportunities for conversation, collaboration, and action on key policy issues and challenges facing all levels of government and society. It also serves as a nexus for the university to engage with the broader community through arts and culture programming.

The Associate Director of Engagement is an integral member of the growing core team of the Hopkins Bloomberg Center and is critical to the success of the Center’s outreach, friend-raising, and nascent fundraising efforts.
