Job Description

The Campus Print and Mail Assistant (a multiple person role) assists in the day to day function of Campus Print and Mail Services. The Campus Print and Mail Assistant will be committed to providing extraordinary, efficient and cost effective printing and mailing services that help to contribute to the success of the Hope College Community.

Daily Tasks
  • Triage and process print and copy orders using Print Shop Pro software.
  • Receive and sort incoming mail, packages and deliveries.
  • Process outgoing mail and packages.
  • Provide support to students, staff and faculty with the printing and mailing needs via face to face interaction, phone calls and email.

Develop
  • Continual learning and understanding of all technology, equipment and outside services that involves print and mail:
    • As orders and requests come in, strive to be able to accomplish the needed tasks for customers.
    • Understand the capabilities and limitations of equipment and processes.
      • Anticipate customer needs.
      • Proactively modify job requests, in partnership with the customer, if they are not in the scope of capability.
    • Troubleshoot equipment and remedy issues.
      • Notice when colors are not accurate.
      • Notice if mail items are not processed correctly.
      • Accurately read and record letters and numbers to prevent errors.
  • Demonstrated Outcomes:
    • Takes a proactive approach to solving internal and external issues that meet the needs of the team and customers.
    • Uses attention to detail to diagnose and adjust quality or timeliness of output.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Basic technology proficiency.
  • Ability to lift or move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.

Physical Demands

This position requires remaining in a sitting or standing position for frequent periods of time; uses office machinery such as a computers, printers, copy machines; Occasionally involves moving items over 50 pounds; frequently will move between different offices/workspaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities.
