Job Summary: The Project Cost Analyst role is part of our Program Planning & Controls (PP&C) team who supports the project management team in controlling and analyzing project costs, reporting and modeling, and ensuring financial and delivery goals are met. This position is part of a global team managing earned value, risks and opportunities, cost and change management, cash and revenue forecasting on complex, large-scale projects in a dynamic environment. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, forecast, and manage project budget allocation, revenue and cash flows, and costs.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, and ensure timely and clear communication regarding project status, risks, and changes.
  • Works in accordance with earned value methodologies for revenue, cost, and schedule changes, baselines, and forecasts, develops Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), forecasts estimate to completion (ETC), and estimates at completion (EAC).
  • Help implement and maintain processes and tools to manage project costs, schedules, and risks supporting compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Understand all cost and revenue components of a project contract.
  • Create, update, and monitor SaaS billings and cost models for multiple programs.
  • SAP and other system tools are used for budgeting, forecasting, and project management.
  • Supports project operations team by monitoring and analyzing project costs, identifying variances, and working with the team to address them.
  • Participate in solving problems, monitoring risk mitigation strategies, and execution of risk management processes with the project operations team.
  • Supports the development and review of detailed integrated schedules in close collaboration with the technical leads and project managers.
  • Monitors and analyzes Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to ensure both activities are timely and correct.
  • Prepares financial analysis and reports for internal stakeholders and management review meetings.
  • Supports internal and external audits.
  • Supports proposal development activities.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree, preferably in finance or accounting. OR equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Four (4)+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong financial analytical skills are essential. Ability to analyze and understand how costs are derived.
  • Ability to present findings, give presentations, and address executives directly.
  • Cost accounting experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with cost modeling for SaaS businesses is good to have.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Scheduling experience is a plus.
  • Good working knowledge of personal computers and spreadsheet applications is required.
  • Ability to prioritize, complete multiple tasks, and work under deadlines.
  • Adept analytic and numeric skills are required.

Cubic Pay Range:

$90,000 - $115,000* + benefits.

*Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
