As part of the overall University Operations, Events, and Safety Division we work with our partners on and off campus to provide and foster a climate that allows individuals to live, study, work and visit campus in a safe environment.

Under the direction of the Notre Dame Police Department, Parking and Credential Services provides the day-to-day work direction of the parking enforcement team. It is often the case that our enforcement team is the first encounter a visitor will have when coming to campus.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enforcement of University Parking Rules & Regulations by patrolling parking lots and issuing citations for parking violations as appropriate using electronic handheld devices.
  • Excellent customer services to direct the campus community to authorized parking areas and provide information pertaining to proper use of parking passes and/or pay-to-park resources.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Team members will be required to utilize our proprietary computer equipment and software, and communicate via radio and/or phone to the parking office. This is an on-call position with the opportunity for flexible scheduling during regular business hours of operation Monday-Friday. Candidates for this position must be comfortable working in an outdoor/all-weather environment during their shift, spending the majority of their shift on foot and walking campus parking areas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and stand/walk for long periods of time.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Exceptional customer service skills that include the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • The ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals including the campus community, general public, and other NDPD personnel.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A drivers license is required to utilize campus vehicles (when available)
