Job Summary
The newly launched John H. and Patricia W. Mitchell Business Communication Lab (MBCL) has consultant/tutor openings for qualified applicants starting Winter 2025. The MBCL is looking for consultants who are interested in tutoring written and verbal business communication assignments at the undergraduate level. In a collaborative, one-on-one environment at the COB?s Mitchell Lab, tutors will coach students in a variety of audience-based communications. Sessions will primarily be conducted in-person.
Basic duties:
Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate and learn
Support undergraduate student business communication skills
Be available to meet remotely or in person as needed
Attend paid staff meetings and training
Assist with Lab programming, as needed
Contribute to the Lab's social media accounts
Maintain session records
Ensure confidentiality of student work in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Perform duties and maintain standards according to college policies, procedures, and values
Required Qualifications*
Applicants must have already taken and successfully completed BA 330, Managerial Communication with a high B to A range. Must be able to work well and collaboratively with peers. Multilingual students with expertise in English are especially encouraged to apply.
Background Screening

Decision Making Process
Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis. After all documents are submitted, the Business Communication Lab will reach out to schedule an interview.
