Class Summary
College of the Mainland is currently seeking to fill a Full-time in person Business faculty position.
Responsible for providing instruction within the Business and Accounting Department – Business Administration program. Prepare, develop, and revise curriculum and coursework. Provide scheduled office hours for student consultation. Serves on College committees as needed and assigned. Participate in student-oriented instructional and advisement activities as needed and assigned. Anticipated start date of January, 2025.

Minimum Education/Training/Experience
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Management, Operations Management, or Organizational Behavior and Management or Master’s degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Management, Operations Management, or Organization Behavior and Management.
College teaching experience is required.
A candidate seeking the position should have3-10 years of significant business experience.

Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Experience teaching with an online learning management system. Doctorate degree preferred.
Minimum Knowledge & Skills
Detailed knowledge of the material being taught in the specific course and program area.
Communication, and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, supervisors, the general public, etc., and sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Computer literacy to perform job duties.
Knowledge of student engagement techniques, learning styles, recruiting and retention strategies, and learning-centered philosophy; Experience with or willingness to learn the latest teaching/learning technologies.

Skill in the use of computers for business applications and analysis.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Proven ability to interact with business, industry, and community organizations to establish partnerships
Demonstrated knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including online delivery, active learning models, learning management systems, and other alternative flexible delivery methods.
Job Duties
Teaching and Student Engagement
1. Develops and teaches classes in various aspects of business leadership, management, finance, and entrepreneurship.
2. Develops and teaches classes in the Business program, which may include, but is not limited to, the following curriculum areas: Operations Management, Business Marketing/Promotion, Business Development and planning, Business Plan Writing, Finance, Business Feasibility, Social Media Branding, and Internships.
3. Teach assigned courses per the course syllabi and a schedule of classes that may include day, evening, and distance classes.
4. Engage in developing new and creative instructional materials, including new courses and delivery formats.
5. Assist in keeping the curriculum of the program(s) current. Prepare, develop, and revise curriculum and coursework.
6. Advise students and ensure the successful completion of their degree program.
7. Post and hold office hours in a physical and electronic format (to include virtual office hours) as appropriate.
8. Participate in course and program assessment planning.
9. Assist with student recruitment.
Research/Scholarship/Professional Development/Service
1. Maintain a current knowledge of advances and innovations in the academic discipline.
2. Assist with committee work and administrative tasks related to the faculty member’s Department.
3. Assist with committee work and tasks related to the College.
4. Assist with accreditation and state approval processes.
5. Engage in service to the community, including advising and working with students.
6. Attend Department and College meetings along with in-service workshops, honors and awards ceremonies, convocations, and graduations.
7. Other duties as appropriate to the position.
