Manager of Financial Aid Compliance & Operations
Job Description
Manager of Financial Aid of Compliance & Operations will serve as a leader and supervisor within the Operations Team in the Student Financial Aid (SFA) office. This position will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the daily operations of importing FAFSA data, managing the awarding and disbursement of financial aid, and ensuring strict adherence federal, state and institutional regulations. This position is essential to the smooth and efficient operation of our team and remain compliant with federal, state and institutional guidelines. This position will be a key player in helping the operations team and ensuring compliance across all aid programs.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Institutional aid, including
- R2T4 calculations and special circumstance escalations.
- Analyze current workflows and processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend strategic changes for the redistribution of work.
- Stay up to date with changes in federal, state and institutional financial aid regulations and assist with implementing necessary updates to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Assist in awarding aid to students, ensuring compliance and timeliness.
- Ensure aid packages are properly adjusted when necessary to comply with institutional policies and federal guidelines.
- Serve as a flexible, key team member, providing backup support during peak times and assisting other functional areas within the financial aid office.
Shift
M-F 8am-5pm; some evenings and weekends required
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- In-depth understanding of federal and state financial aid regulations, including packaging, verification and R2T4 calculations.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive financial aid and/or 1-2 years’ experience supervising a team/projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a team, assisting with workflows and shaping a positive culture in the office.
- PeopleSoft Experience
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $52,000 - $58,000 yearly
Grade: GGS-010
