Job Description

SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, OFFICE OF EXTERNAL RELATIONS, MIT Sloan Office of External Relations, to support the Senior Associate Dean for External Engagement by managing complex and diverse tasks; use in-depth knowledge of MIT, Sloan, and other departments to handle office operations and resolve varied situations; manage calendars; create travel materials and itineraries; compose and edit correspondence and documents, managing information flow; organize staff retreats and meetings; create presentation materials and reports; serve as back up the Executive Assistant to the Dean; and perform other tasks.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; a minimum of five years of related experience, preferably as a senior-level executive assistant; experience with high-volume scheduling in a busy environment; excellent organizational, time-management, problem-solving, customer service, and writing skills; discretion with sensitive and confidential matters; proficiency with Microsoft Office, experience with database management, and demonstrated ability to learn new software quickly; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and comfort working in a fast-paced and complex environment with shifting priorities. PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree; experience in an educational environment; familiarity with AdvanceWeb from Ellucian; and support for MIT’s commitment to the values of DEI, including work or volunteer experience. Hourly rate: $32-$36, based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity.  Generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
