Located about 90 minutes from Atlanta and 30 minutes from Chattanooga, Dalton State is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in northwest Georgia and is surrounded by abundant outdoor recreation opportunities. We attract students from 35 countries and 26 states. More than half of our students are first-generation college students, and more than one-third of our students identify as Hispanic/Latino. Dalton State is Georgia's first federally-designated Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI); through this designation, we administer a Title V and Title III HSI STEM Grant program that benefit all students.

Job Summary

 

This position performs specialized duties in the provision of assistance to students and potential students with Enrollment Services processes related to Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registrar.

Minimum hourly rate: $14.58

Responsibilities

 

Provides specialized assistance to students. (65%)

  • Assists all escalations for enrollment related assistance for potential students, current students, and community members.
  • Provides information and assistance on matters related to admissions, financial aid, and student records.
  • Assists customers in completing financial aid documents.
  • Assists customers in completing admissions applications.
  • Assists customers with transcript orders and graduation applications.
  • Assists customers with petitions for residency, tuition classification, and tuition waivers.
  • Provides information on transfer credits.
  • Advises students on financial aid processes and regulations. 
  • Advises students on admission and readmission processes and regulations.
  • Advises students on records processes and regulations related to graduation, transfer equivalency, and residency

 

      Receives and responds to referrals and emails from Financial Aid, Registrars Office, and Admissions.   (20%)

  • Receives and evaluates referred customers.
  • Receives and responds to escalations referred to campus from the call center.
  • Receives and responds to all emails received by Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registrar email accounts.
  • Provides student information and assistance based on each students requirements.
  • Resolves student related enrollment issues.
  • Escalates student related enrollment issues as needed.

 

Performs a variety of related duties. (15%)

  • Visits high schools to assist with FAFSA completion.
  • Visits high schools to assist with apply to college days.
  • Attends outreach events like Preview Day and other institutional outreach events.
  • Provides additional support for Enrollment Services on Orientation Days.
  • Creates and presents presentations on Enrollment Services areas (Financial Aid, Admissions, Registrar) for Perspective classes and students and Parents at Orientation.
  • Provides back up coverage for the Enrollment Assistant in the Office of Enrollment Services.
  • Tracks and updates submitted documents.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree.
  • More than two years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree.
  • Bilingual.

  • Knowledge of college enrollment services policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of state and federal financial aid regulations.
  • Knowledge of state residency regulations.
  • Knowledge of USG and state lawful presence policies.
  • Skill in the provision of customer services.
  • Skill in decision making and problem solving.
  • Skill in the completion of a variety of reports.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
