In the role of Construction Inspector II, we'll count on you to:
  • Inspect highways, roadways, and bridge construction activities
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate the construction inspection, quality assurance inspections of bridge and transportation projects, including foundations, paving, earthwork, coordination with contractor, other inspectors, surveyors and materials testers as well as documentation of the project progress
  • Maintain accurate daily reports of construction site activity, field measurement for progress payment and produce required reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule and budget status
  • Take on a leadership role in absence of the Resident Engineer
  • Coordinate with others for documentation for contractor progress pay estimates
  • Perform calculations to support the technical aspects of the work including shoring, falsework and quantities
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical school or Associate degree
  • Relevant Industry Certifications
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • 10 years' experience working in construction inspection and management
  • This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with HDR's vehicle policy
  • Experience with Prolog, Primavera, etc. desired
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years experience
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position is $62,000 - $89,000 and depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
