Salary Grade 18: $61,811 - $70,591
The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Administrative Specialist I at the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) to work within the Division of Addiction Treatment and Recovery and provide professional administrative support to the Acting Associate Commissioner and division leadership.
The Administrative Specialist I must be able to adapt to a face-paced work environment with changing needs and priorities. A successful candidate will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to evaluate and summarize complex topics and issues, proficiency in written and oral communication, effective time management, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing the Associate Commissioner's calendar to include scheduling meetings, both in-person and virtually.
- Providing support by scheduling and staffing large virtual and/or in person meetings for the Associate Commissioner and the division.
- Prepare speeches, talking points, and PowerPoint presentations for the Associate Commissioner.
- Be able to proof read and edit guidance documents.
- Develop briefing materials for meetings, events, and forums.
- Be responsible for the division mailbox and calendar.
- Serve as the division web liaison to Communications.
- Coordinate Project Sunlight for the division.
- Manage travel for the Associate Commissioner.
- Provide support regarding inventory of the division's assets.
- Establish and maintain a filing system for the division.
- Any other assigned tasks as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree and two years of experience in providing professional administrative and staff support through oversight of an organization or program area activities; OR
- An associate degree and four years of full-time experience described above; OR
- Six years of full-time experience described above.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office programs.
- Some knowledge of the OASAS system of care.
