Pro Fee Supervisor
Job Description
The Department of Neurology is seeking a Pro Fee Supervisor. This position will supervise the Accounts Receivable staff responsible for ensuring that all third-party reimbursement is at expected levels. Will work directly with Third Party Reimbursement to resolve payer issues. Provide staff oversight for the submission of both paper and electronic claims to all primary and secondary third-party payers. This individual will assist in developing office policies and procedures, serve as a lead for troubleshooting, problem solving and will be expected to exercise independent judgment. Will be responsible for completing key tasks as needed and defined by department management. Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills. Maintain strict confidentiality of staff and patient information. Promote teamwork and identify areas of improvement and recommend coordinated actions to bring about changes.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Procedural Knowledge
- Interviews, and makes recommendations for hiring, termination, and other performance related functions.
- Provides direct staff supervision to include training, orientation, maintaining work schedules, and assigning workflow.
- Monitors the quality and productivity of staff and documents performance and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Communicates with patients, physicians, insurance companies and other departments as applicable.
- Exercises discretion and good judgment in resolution of daily issues.
- Assists with controlling expenditures, purchasing, payroll, record control and other administrative activities.
- Assists with developing, interpreting, monitoring, implementing and maintaining CPA Policy and Procedures.
- Develops and prepares financial and statistical reports for management and CPA analysis.
Technical Knowledge
- Comprehensive knowledge and compliance of HIPAA rules and regulations in the dissemination of patient Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Requires a thorough understanding of medical billing and experience using an appropriate billing system.
Professional & Personal Development
- Participate in on-going educational activities.
- Assist in the training of staff.
- Keep current of industry changes by reading assigned material on work related topics.
- Complete three days of training annually.

- Must adhere to Service Excellence Standards which includes customer relations, self-management, teamwork, communications, ownership/accountability and continuous performance improvement.

- Will provide direct supervision of assigned staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Five years medical billing experience.
- One year of supervisor experience
- Additional education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate of Bachelor's Degree.
- Working knowledge of JHM and JHU/ PBS Billing Applications.

Role/Level/Range: ATO 40/E/03/OF
Starting Salary Range: $21.25 - $36.90 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

Schedule: M-F 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
