This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Towne Centre Drive and remote.
The Nurse Informaticist is a Bachelor's or Masters-prepared nurse who is responsible for the assessment, planning, training, implementation, evaluation, and optimization of nursing informatics projects. The Nurse Informaticist serves as the primary interface between nursing, patient care services, Clinical Engineering and Information Services to ensure multi- and inter-disciplinary project coordination.
The incumbent participates in communications and project planning regarding system implementation and integration with other UC San Diego Health initiatives. Knowledgeable about the nursing process and nursing practice, relevant regulatory mandates, and principles of quality/safety improvement. The Nurse Informaticist projects are planned and implemented using evidence-based practices for planning, understanding, guiding, and delivering responsible nursing care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSRegistered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science (BSN) or higher.
A valid California RN license.
Must obtain certification in primary Epic EMR module(s) within four (4) months of initial hire.
Must maintain current certification for primary EMR module(s) as a condition of employment.
Five (5+) or more years of relevant experience i.e. clinical informatics projects/EMR optimization/EMR super user/Epic experience/Nursing informatics.
Experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development and support within a large-scale healthcare organization.
Demonstrated ability to provide expert consultative guidance and direction on change initiatives affecting clinical care processes.
Strong ability in workflow and data analysis and design techniques, including needs assessment, specification development, quantitative methods, planning and gap analysis.
Ability to effectively utilize system tools to meet the functionality needs of users.
Ability to plan and organize day-to-day activities along with short and long-term projects; in-depth knowledge of organizational and project planning processes and ability to produce and maintain high-quality planning documents.
Master of Science in Nursing (Nursing/Clinical Informatics Specialization).
EPIC Certification.
Certification in Nursing Informatics; American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Experience as a major participant in a clinical system implementation.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $104,900 - $198,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $50.24 - $95.26
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
