Sr. Model Based Systems Engineer
Job Description
Auria is looking for a full-time Sr. Model Based Systems Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA!
This is a contingent position pending on contract award.
Naval Information Warfare Systems Command, (NAVWAR), San Diego serves as the Navy's Cybersecurity Technical Authority (CSTA) and is the CSTA for the Navy's General Services (GENSER) National Security Systems (NSS) and Defense Business Systems (DBS). This service will support The DOD cybersecurity program to protect and defend DOD and other organizations information and information technology (IT) and will enable Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific (PAC) Code 58100 to both fulfill its unique roles, and support NAVWAR in fulfilling its duties as the Navy's CSTA.
Salary Range: $165,000 - $185,000
Responsibilities
- Support the Chief Engineer in maintaining the NAVWAR Enterprise Architecture (EA) to support MBSE.
- Update engineering best practices up to date for the work force.
- Provide support to the Chief Architect for the NAVWAR EA products and act as the configuration manager of the EA and MBSE environment.
- Maintain already established SoS interface management control processes and products to document Technical Baselines, interface standards, controlling parameters, and interface agreements.
- Modify existing technical drawings that document IT architectures and related specifications and requirements for afloat, ashore and aloft platforms.
- Maintain and govern of the following: Navy-mandated IT standards, CM standards, policy, and processes, and Requirements Management standards, policy, and processes.
- Maintain all Systems Engineering Technical Management processes across the full range of Information Warfare programs and projects.
- Support system (software/hardware/network/configuration and data management) operations and system administration, integration, and data transfer for modeling and simulation tools, architecture tools, and data repositories within the NAVWAR MBSE environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline.
- Must have at least a TS level clearance with SCI eligibility required
- 10+ years of experience with Systems Engineering and Integration, MBSE and using digital engineering tools to design DoD systems
Preferred Training and Skills
- Experience with architecting solutions from user requirements and use cases to be applied across a systems engineering life cycle.
- Experience with the practical application of Unified Modeling Language (UML) or Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
- Ability to conduct model-based performance simulations to determine the impact of requirements changes on system performance and behaviors.
- Ability to use MBSE tools and processes to create and manage tailored MBSE artifacts that capture analysis and the resulting engineering decisions and trades made during acquisition and development.
- Ability to work e?ectively in a multi-disciplinary, dynamic team environment, including internal staff, external contractors, and government clients to increase the use of MBSE for client acquisitions programs.
- Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle, and object-oriented programming languages, including C++, Java, or Python.
- Possess DoD Cyberspace Workforce (DCWF) Qualification and Management Program proficiency level of Intermediate or Advanced.
