City Experiences is seeking a Yacht Keeping Manager for our operation in San Diego
About You:
This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.
About the Opportunity:
Directly manages the yacht keeping department's daily tasks and provides a clean, safe environment for guests and crew by overseeing and maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary, and visual aesthetic condition of the vessels, docks, pier, and other land based facilities. Ensures quality, organization, and cleanliness of all assets and spaces to company standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage Yacht keeping team for all vessels, land based facilities, and dock spaces in San Diego
- Responsible for all aspects of managing yacht keeping team: hiring, training, scheduling, payroll reporting, reviews, coaching/discipline
- Training must be hands on using schedules, tools, chemicals & safety equipment
- Must have valid California Driver's license, and have the ability to drive to pick up supplies, and drive crew to various work sites
- Ordering of all cleaning supplies, equipment, tools and products, using green products, and negotiating for best price
- Must possess the interpersonal skills necessary to lead and manage a team under varying circumstances
- Contact, manage and supervise outside contractors and vendors for job specific projects for yachts and facilities
- Ability to be available for special projects and assignments as directed by management, including "Dry-dock" and "Haul-out" projects
- Maintain all public areas in "Show Ready" condition
- Ability to communicate with guests and direct people to HCE San Diego locations and have general knowledge of HCE services provided
- Maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of vessels, docks, and facilities, in conjunction with the Marine Operations team
- At times, assist with and/or oversee general maintenance work
- Conduct quality of work inspections on a daily basis
- Maintain SDS Safety data sheets.
- Maintain a stocked and organized inventory, organized storage areas, and distribute supplies to crew, ensuring the crew have what they need to complete the task
- Report items needing repair to maintenance dept., as seen during daily inspections.
- Coordinate with sales to be responsive to the boat show calendar, and have boats/facilities visually clean, smelling clean, and in orderly professional condition
- The Yacht Keeping Manager may be called upon to do very minor repairs, and other tasks as directed.
- Problem solving - the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Communications - the individual must speak clearly so listeners can understand and recognize and understand the speech of another person.
- Customer service - the individual manages difficult client/customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service, responds to requests for service and assistance and meets commitments.
- The individual occasionally must have the ability to move or lift up to 60 lbs.
- Additional job duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Valid CA Driver's license "DMV check needs to allow approval for YK Manager to drive company vehicles.
- Computer skills - PC systems, Microsoft word, excel, PP and other.
- Some Spanish speaking preferred
- Will need to obtain TWIC card upon hire
