Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance.

Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. Job duties to include, but not limited to, telephone triage, RX refills, patient education, coordination of back office flow, phlebotomy, rooming patients and medication administration. Will be required to schedule procedures and appointments as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • RN License issued by the State of California.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of recent (within the past year) RN experience in acute or ambulatory care.
  • Minimum of (2) two years of recent (within the past year) experience working in an Ambulatory setting.
  • Previous experience working in an outpatient clinic, urgent care or emergency department.
  • Must have proven independent thinking, decision making, problem solving and prioritizing skills.
  • Proven experience of strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, and patients both verbally and in writing.
  • May be required to work at other locations based on departmental need.
  • Must be able to prioritize and work well both independently and as part of a team in a multidisciplinary setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN.
  • EPIC experience.
  • Previous experience working with solid organ transplant patients in an ambulatory setting.
  • Charge RN or other leadership experience.
  • Emergency department, Critical Care, or step-down experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Selected candidate may be hired at the CN III level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
