The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges, those who have suffered a trauma, and those at risk to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a CDS Program Assistant Lead who exemplifies that mission, and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference. Be available to work Monday- Friday from 8:00am till 3:30pm.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible to plan and facilitate meaningful and engaging programming activities under the direction and framework set by the Director/Program Manager.
  • Management/oversight of the production, floor and cover warehouse when needed, including all receiving, inventory, storage, quality control, and shipping functions
  • Implementation of the Behavior Support Strategies as assigned, providing support to clients with maladaptive behaviors.
  • Support people in conformance with the agency's mission, as assigned by the Program Manager, director, or designee, and according to the needs of the person, program, and/or the agency as a whole
  • Oversee classes and community outings. Maintain schedules/calendars, documentation, and reports related to provided services and submit applicable paperwork to Director/Manager.

What will you bring to the table?

  • High School/GED and five years paid full-time experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities - OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service area and one-year full-time experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities.
  • Autism training/certification preferred
  • Ability to obtain Forklift license
  • Experience working with people requiring specialized behavioral and/or medical supports preferred

What are the other requirements?

  • Significant walking and standing daily, with occasional running for short periods of time
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, stoop, and bend
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to assist individuals with their physical needs and personal care, including two-person lift or transfer, with no physical or medical restrictions
  • Must be able to intervene physically using applied CPI techniques and/or restraints training, with no physical or medial restrictions
