Job Description

The Health Science Department at Keene State College is seeking qualified applicants for adjunct faculty position for the Spring 2025 semester. We seek applicants who can teach etiher Nutrition Sciences and Application or Essentials of Nutrition Science. This is a part-time non-benefitted position.

Course Descriptions:
HLSC-215 Nutrition Sciences and Application
Principles of nutrition, including macro- and micronutrients and their functions, DRIs, and assessment of nutritional status and dietary patterns are explored. In-depth review of digestion, absorption, utilization, and function of nutrients, with emphasis on using food for disease prevention and wellness. Concepts and skills are developed through an integrated lab.
Lecture: Monday/Wednesday 4:00-5:45 pm, Lab: Thursday 4:00-5:45 pm

INHLSC-175 Essentials of Nutrition Science
An introduction to basic science concepts including nutrition guidelines, micro and macronutrients, anatomy and physiology of digestion and absorption of nutrients, energy balance, and health and wellness.
The course will integrate course content, technology and quantitative reasoning using hands-on investigative activities to interpret and evaluate nutritional needs.
Lecture: Monday/Wednesday 12:00-1:45 pm, Lab: Tuesday, 2:00-3:45 pm

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or a related field
  • Relevant experience in nutrition practice, or successful completion of three or more college-level nutrition courses

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in group teaching or facilitation
  • Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • The College has identified desirable qualifications that support our commitment to creating and maintaining a diverse campus community including the ability to speak a second language or to bring a multicultural perspective to the campus.
