Full-Time Faculty and Program Coordinator, Digital and Social Media Marketing

MCCC/MTA Unit Position

Division of STEM & Business

Campus Location: Danvers

SALARY: Anticipated starting salary is $54,820.00 - $60,000.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Full-Time Faculty/Program Coordinator - Digital and Social Media Marketing will teach courses in general business and marketing, which may include, but are not limited to Social Media Marketing, Principles of Sales, Principles of Marketing, and Intro to Business. Courses may be held at our Lynn and Danvers locations and/or in the remote or online environment as assigned. In addition, this position will lead the coordination of the Social Media Marketing certificate and Digital & Social Media Marketing degree.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Teach a full-time schedule of Business/Marketing courses (typically 15 credit hours) at the assigned locations and in the assigned modalities.
  • Prepare syllabi and develop/update curricula to address course and student learning outcomes and General Education competencies as appropriate, according to the teaching modality of the course (online, face-to-face, hybrid, etc.).
  • Serve as academic advisor to assigned students
  • Participate in curriculum development in collaboration with the entire department.
  • Participate in college service consistent with the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Maintain a minimum of four (4) scheduled office hours per week during fall and spring semesters according to the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Attend required meetings either in-person or virtually (when available).
  • Recommend suitable instructional material, textbooks, and library acquisitions.
  • Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes, and program review.
  • Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues, to teach online as needed, and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate.
  • Engage in professional development activities through participation in conferences, workshops, seminars, and professional associations to maintain excellence in discipline and in the classroom.
  • Foster student success across the college's diverse student body, and address equity gaps, through innovative teaching and learning approaches as well as curriculum development.
  • Actively participate in the general college community and fulfill duties as stipulated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AS THE FACULTY PROGRAM COORDINATOR (REASSIGNED FULL-TIME TEACHING LOAD)

  • Assist with class scheduling each semester for the Social Media Marketing certificate and the Digital and Social Media Marketing degree.
  • Conduct program review of the social media marketing programs as assigned and in collaboration with the Business Department.
  • Assist in the recruitment and orientation of new instructional staff.
  • Ensure program curricula are relevant and reflect modern practice.
  • Recruit and host Advisory Committee members to ensure programming meets the needs of the area workforce.
  • Cooperate with other program areas and/or departments, learning resources, student services and administrative services within the College.
  • Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in Marketing or related field. OR a Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field with three years of relevant industry experience.
  • Available to teach in-person classes at our campuses in Danvers, MA and Lynn, MA.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing business and marketing software packages, in addition to social media technology.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.

PREFERENCES

  • At least one year of successful college teaching experience, preferably at Community College
  • Prior business venture experience including developing and operating an entrepreneurial venture and/or small business.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Evidence of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
