Planning Specialist

Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Planning Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing production and inventory levels, ensuring the efficient production, planning, and movement of goods, and maintaining accurate records of inventory transactions. This role involves coordinating with various departments, suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure smooth operations and the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for day-to-day planning, inventory transactions, and accuracy of inventory records
  • Creation of planning tools that utilize/synergize with NetSuite, existing infrastructure, and future Shop Floor software
  • Create production plans that maximize inventory availability and minimize waste and scrap
  • Ensure raw materials are available as needed
  • Work with management to facilitate BOM updates and cost roll
  • Utilize ERP system, WMS system, and MRP system to maximize operational efficiencies
  • Maintain records of relevant documentation for audit purposes
  • Works effectively with cross-functional teams, including Purchasing, Warehouse, and Production
  • Provide detailed inventory accuracy reports/performance inventory review for all inventory locations.
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy Key Performance Metrics

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must have a high school diploma
  • A minimum of 8-10 years' experience in an Biotech/Biological Manufacturing environment
  • The ideal candidate has worked in a growth company & understands quick scale-up and in a rapidly changing environment

  • Hands-on and fully understands the details of all warehouse processes
  • Strong Training and follow-ups to ensure compliance
  • Proactive and works with a sense of urgency
  • Highly analytical and has strong mechanical/engineering skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) for effective vendor & internal staff
  • Attention to detail drives tasks to closure efficiently with error-free end results
  • Considerate physical activity with prolonged periods of walking and navigating a warehouse environment
