Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET) seeks to hire a Financial Coordinator to assist the Assistant Director of Research with financial administration of grants and contracts. The primary duties include to process and verify accuracy of financial transactions and ensuring compliance with various federal and state policies. This role will also track subcontract invoices, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other routine administrative office tasks.

- Bachelor’s degree in related field (accounting or finance) and 2+ years of professional experience in accounting & finance.
- Strong ability to prioritize under pressure while being thorough.
- Ability to independently research polices & procedures.
- Ability to quickly adapt new systems & software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills specially in Microsoft excel and Google suite.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferences:
- Working experience in higher education, specifically at University of Maryland system is, strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of various financial transactional software.
Additional Information:
This could be a hybrid position, but located within the region.
The salary range for this position is $50k-55k.
