Deputy Director of Alumni Relations & Institutional Advancement
About New Mexico Military Institute:
NMMI is a state-supported, co-educational college preparatory
high school and junior college, complete with Junior and Senior ROTC programs. With a Corps of Cadets
numbering up to 1000 young men and women, NMMI provides an accredited college preparatory curriculum
on the high school level.
Position:
The Deputy Director of Alumni Relations and Institutional Advancement will serve under the direction of the Director of Alumni Relations & Institutional Advancement. The Deputy Director provides strategic oversight of planned & major giving, capital campaigns, leading Alumni outreach/engagement, fundraising efforts, and managing stewardship activities. This is a 12-month, exempt, full-time position.
The salary range is $75,000.00 to $80,000.00. The job description is available upon request.
Tasks:
Essential responsibilities are to maintain, categorize, administer, and actively manage a prospect pool of approximately 100-150 alumni,parents, and friends of NMMI
Develop and implement a planned giving program.
Identify and prepare solicitation strategies for identified prospects, most rated $25,000 to $100,000+
Solicit and secure major gifts, planned gifts, and annual giving commitments from these prospects.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
Previous experience with fundraising at an educational institution.
Experience managing in an office setting.
Working knowledge of events, event planning and execution.
Budget management and maintenance to include reconciliation and other aspects.
Knowledge of fundraising philosophies and approaches.
Previous experience working in higher education.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree.
Previous supervisory experience.
A minimum of two to four years of fundraising experience.
Satisfactory driving record and current driver’s license to operate NMMI vehicles.
Preferred:
Prior experience working with alumni/volunteers.
Master’s Degree.
Prior experience in fundraising at an educational institution.
