Salary Range:$45,000.00 To 50,000.00 Annually

 

Role:

The EOF Enrollment Counselor provides advanced and diversified administrative and recruitment support services to the Educational Opportunity Fund Department. Responsible for advising and registering EOF students. The incumbent supports program recruitment for the summer program and academic year as well as other program initiatives.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Visit and coordinate recruitment activities for each feeder high school
  • Monitor students’ progress and provide support to increase retention and persistence to graduation.
  • Assist students in establishing realistic and attainable academic and career goals
  • Maintain current knowledge of all degree and certificate programs, including curriculum, job prospects and outlook
  • Maintain student files and records, document all pertinent student information, update computerized information system regarding changes to student status
  • Serve as point of contact for prospective students and the community
  • Review EOF applications and schedule students for EOF interviews
  • Work with parents to assist them in completing the financial component of the admissions process
  • Monitor and maintain budget and other fiscal records
  • Assist EOF staff in preparation of reports
  • Coordinate the planning, organization and implementation of workshops, seminars, programs and external activities
  • Oversight of student workers and volunteers
  • Utilize creative ideas to improve programs, services, and office operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

Experience                              

A minimum of 1 to 2 years of effective recruiting & advising experience is required. Experience in (EOF) Educational Opportunity Fund Programs is a preferred

 

Education                                

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.

 

Interpersonal Skills                 

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff and external constituents.

 

Technical Skills                       

Working knowledge of current and emerging computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office products.  Knowledge of data management systems, Office 365, e-mail, internet and social media. Ability to learn new programs/applications quickly.

 

Other Skills                             

Demonstrated ability to work independently and coordinate special programs and events with a minimum supervision. Must be self-motivated, able to take initiative and use creativity.

 

Physical Requirements            

The work is mostly sedentary; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc.  No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

 

 

Work Environment                 

Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office. High level of energy and enthusiasm. Must be available to travel during peak recruiting times.
