ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Represent GRCC by attending and presenting at high school visits, college fairs and community events
- Develop and deliver presentations to prospective GRCC students and families
- Conduct one on one personalized meetings via Admissions Specialist appointments by providing full shift coverage for both in person, virtual, Saturdays and weeknights
- Lead campus tour events on campus, this includes presentations and providing a walking tour
- Coordinate and lead group visits both on and off campus
- Coordinate and lead on and off campus group placement testing
- Provide leadership and assistance at orientation sessions
- Have a robust understanding of the admissions, enrollment, and financial aid policies and procedures as it relates to GRCC
- Coordinate and assist with events like Ready, Set, Enroll, Open Houses, Raider Rally, and other recruitment initiatives
- Use professional judgment in addressing complex financial aid and enrollment questions
- Troubleshoot and problem solve applicant and enrollment issues for potential students
- Utilize software and related technologies essential for enrollment management, such as Radius, Mongoose, PeopleSoft, and Image Now
- Teach technology to students, such as navigating the Online Center, Blackboard, Navigate, and other such applications students use
- Assist all students with questions related to enrollment and financial aid through answering inbound calls, text messaging, making outbound calls and click-to-chat
- Assist general Student Services functions, specifically during peak times
- Other duties as assigned
- Follow College policy on the Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA).
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education/License
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required
- Bachelor degree preferred
Skills
- Minimum of one (1) year in customer service, sales, marketing, recruitment, or higher education admissions experience required
- Must be comfortable with public speaking. Public speaking is essential to this work and will be utilized frequently
- Must possess excellent formal presentation skills and strong professional presence
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift and move 30 pounds of recruitment materials
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle for extensive recruitment travel
- Must have reliable transportation to drive to various locations in the West Michigan areas
- A mix of seated office work and active off-campus engagements (driving, standing at information tables for 2-3 hours, etc)

- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (oral and written) are required to be successful in this position
Working Conditions
- Mostly office environments
- Ability to travel to off campus locations, including our Lakeshore campus in Holland
- Ability to analyze information and conceptualize solutions
- High level of energy, enthusiasm, motivation, and the ability to be innovative and creative
- This work may include interruptions (drop in students, phone calls, etc.)

- Must be able to work flexible hours (i.e. evenings and night) including occasional weekends.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that calls for flexibility/adaptability and the ability to handle multiple interruptions and make quick decisions.
