Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Department of Engineering Information Technology (EIT) of A. James Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park is seeking a Program Coordinator to be part of the Department’s Technical Operations Team. Responsibilities: Be involved in planning and management of multiple events at all levels, throughout the year such as open houses, orientation, and professional development workshops; be continuously engaged in various outreach efforts to enhance the visibility for the unit, expanding the brand identity and increase its involvement and productivity; be involved with and coordinate student outreach and recruitment; coordinate and collaborate with the EIT main business office in providing human resources support, procurement and assist in the grant proposal generation and keep track of the budget and expenses of various grants. Submit NDA requests to the business officer of the unit as and when required.
Due to the nature of the work in community engagement efforts, this position will be required to commit to some evening and weekend hours as and when required and to occasional in-state and out of state travel.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
-Two (2) years of experience in administration, in addition to experience in events and/or travel coordination, providing general administrative support, and communication coordination. Relevant Internship experience in the field will also be considered.
-One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of the required education. In addition, experience may be substituted by an equivalent combination of graduate-level education and experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office & Google Suite applications
-Excellent communication skills
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
