Position Title
Director of High School Programs - Rose Hill

Job Duties
The Director will be responsible to the Associate Dean for planning, directing and coordinating the development and delivery of the following Early College Academy pathways at the Butler of Rose Hill facility. The Director coordinates academic offerings at area high schools as assigned by the Associate Dean and in conjunction with division Deans. The Director coordinates academic offerings consistent with the Early College Philosophy and curriculum structure to meet student needs plus assesses learner needs within the community, develops programs of study, and arranges for adequate facilities. The Director also coordinates teaching/learning resources, implements and directs the Early College Academy programs, evaluates program outcomes, prepares reports, establishes articulation agreements, and works closely with industry partners. The Director maintains positive collaborative relationships and ongoing communication with students, Deans, Early College faculty, and school district partners.

Starting @ $49,873/yr. Commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications

 

Required knowledge and skills
A. Knowledge of the unique needs of Early College Academy students
B. Knowledge of curriculum development, knowledge of group process, effective communication skills with individuals and groups, effective leadership skills, effective public speaking skills, effective organizational skills
C. Skills in counseling techniques and assessment of student values, interests, abilities, and goals
D. Knowledge of secondary student characteristics and development
E. Knowledge of vocational fields, particularly in information technology
F. Knowledge of available programs and requirements
G. Able to understand and interpret effective and efficient instructional practices in the classroom
H. Computer/Technologically literate
I. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
J. Good interpersonal and human relations skills; professional
K. Work with minimal supervision; able to think and work independently
L. Proven leadership capabilities
M. Ability to work as a team member to assist in the efficient operation of the Academy

Required experience
A. Experience and demonstrated understanding of the high school student learner and administrative structures and practices
B. Experience and demonstrated understanding of higher education administrative structures and practices
C. Teaching, administration or program management experience
D. Community College experience preferred

Required educational background
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
