Salary is determined per the SF Salary Schedule.

Under general supervision, the Adjunct Assistant Professor, Radiology will develop, prepare and teach Radiology coursework. Faculty may be assigned to SF's main Northwest campus or at any of the program's clinical affiliate locations.  Additionally, course offerings may be taught during the day, evening, or online.  Candidates must have the flexibility to teach assigned time and format at any site throughout the academic year.  Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to reach a diverse student population, flexibility, willingness to work with others, and an interest in the integration of classroom and clinical experience.  The candidate's primary function will be to teach laboratory and clinical courses in Radiology.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops, delivers and updates program courses (didactic, lab and clinical) as needed, in accordance to community input, Department of Education frameworks and accreditor's standards.
  • Reviews all lesson plans for didactic, laboratory and clinical experiences to facilitate the achievement of program goals.
  • Assists with preparing lab setups.
  • Provides in-services on critical skills performed by the radiologic technologist in the patient care environment.
  • Completes formative evaluations of students in the didactic, lab, and clinical environments using program evaluation methods.
  • Assists in clinical orientation of radiology students.
  • Assists in recruitment activities of the program.
  • Works with the Director of Clinical Education to coordinate clinical education with didactic education.
  • Provides opportunities for students to participate in a variety of lab and/or clinical activities. 
  • Understands and enforces school and program policies. 
  • Maintains current knowledge of radiology practices and educational methodologies within higher education via appropriate workshops, seminars, courses and educational conferences. 
  • Maintains good standing with credentialing and licensing bodies. 
  • Assists and advises students with academic, clinical, and professional issues. 
  • Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Chair, Allied Health Programs 

Qualifications

Required: To be credentialed to teach for this position, prospective faculty must possess at least an associate degree, be a registered radiologic technologist and be eligible for a professional license in the state of Florida. 

Additional Requirements:  A criminal background check will be conducted.

General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The Adjunct Assistant must have the ability to deliver a high level of interactive customer service, develop and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the organization, communicate effectively and possess proficient computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of Office Applications. The successful applicant must be willing to work a flexible schedule at multiple sites, as well as demonstrate the ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff at all levels within a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative environment.
