Overview

The Supervisor Instrumentation & Calibration is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of test equipment and instrumentation. You will lead a team of technicians, overseeing calibrations, managing inventory, and implementing quality control procedures. This role requires collaboration across departments, including Program Management, Contracts, Finance, and custodians, to minimize equipment downtime and ensure adherence to industry standards. You will also play a vital role in continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process optimizations.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee equipment calibration to ensure adherence to established standards (includes internal, external, ovens, cleanrooms).
  • Review calibration certificates for accuracy and manage calibration intervals.
  • Lead internal and USG property audits to verify compliance.
  • Analyze KPI's (OOT, TAT) to identify and solve issues, and implement process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Quality departments to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure quarterly physical inventory of all test equipment and fixtures is being performed.
  • Oversee subcontractor inventory practices.
  • Plan, assign, and coordinate the work of calibration technicians.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and develop team skills.
  • Oversee daily activities, monitor record-keeping accuracy, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Generate reports (calibration records, recall notices, equipment inventories) and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Schedule and facilitate Lean/Six Sigma activities to enhance problem-solving and process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with company tool champions to implement major lean initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and update of relevant calibration procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
  • Two (2) years experience in an electronic component environment, microwave assembly work, or hands on process manufacturing
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred:

  • BS or BA Undergraduate Degree
  • Four (4) years+ experience in electronic component environment and microwave assembly work, or hands on process manufacturing OR
  • Two (2) years of experience in people management OR
  • Two (2) years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Technical Skills

  • Computer skills:working in a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface using Power Point, Excel and Word software programs; ability to use ERP software such as SAP, or IndySoft a plus. Familiarity with and/or ability to use Power BI a plus.
  • Math & Analytical skills:basic to intermediate mathematical skills; review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; ability to collect, analyze and summarize information to a general understanding; strong attention to detail.

Salary Range: $80,162 - $115,232 annually. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base bay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
