Job Description

The University of New Hampshire is seeking adjunct instructors to teach the following courses in Fall 2024, from August 26 through December 9, followed by the final exam period ending December 17:

· Arabic 401: Elementary Arabic I (MWF 10:10 am-11:00 am)
· Arabic 503: Intermediate Arabic I (MWF 1:10 – 2:00 pm)

Arabic 401 and Arabic 503 are in-person classes that meet on the UNH Durham campus in Durham, NH. Course descriptions may be viewed here: https://catalog.unh.edu/undergraduate/course-descriptions/arbc/

In addition to these scheduled courses, there may be an opportunity for two additional courses in Spring Semester 2025, pending need and performance.

Minimum qualifications include a Masters in Arabic linguistics, literature or culture, or a closely related field. Ideal candidates will have previous experience teaching Arabic language and culture at the college level.

Screening of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Applicants are asked to provide the name and email of three references who will be contacted by the search committee if the application reaches the stage of finalist. Candidates must pass a background check and provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Masters in Arabic or Masters in closely related field; superior proficiency in Arabic.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Arabic or closely related field, experience teaching Arabic at the college level

This position is paid on a per-course basis.
